Public Accountability for Senior Managers

This half day afternoon seminar at Malone House is exclusively for senior Managers who work in support roles to chief executives in their role as accounting officers.
Course Director Brian Whalley will present the seminar. Representatives from the Northern Ireland Audit Office and form the Department of Finance and Personnel, will make a contribution to the programme on the day. The aims of the programme are to provide participants with an overview of:
- Public accountability and corporate governance
- Stewardship of public funds
- Operating within delegated authority and the relationship between departments and sponsored/arm’s length bodies
- The role of the Accounting Officer
- Regularity Propriety and Value for Money
‘Public Accountability for Senior Managers’ is a concise introduction to the principles and mechanisms of public accountability, as they affect the handling of public money and all aspects of the conduct of public business.
The seminar fee is £200+ VAT.
