Northern Ireland’s share of the public expenditure cuts announced as part of the 2010 Spending Review will have a significant impact on revenue budgets and on capital infrastructure spending over the next four years. Over the last year PwC has been pleased to partner with the Chief Executives’ Forum to help shape a response to dealing with the deficit.
As the world’s largest professional advisory firm we can bring to bear new thinking and global best practice in public sector service delivery which will support the public sector in Northern Ireland. Our partnership with the Forum has already developed new ideas around the use of assets, working collaboratively to achieve better citizen outcomes and to explore new models of service delivery.
We have also provided Forum members with access to PwC’s extensive and authoritative Public Sector Research Centre and our Northern Ireland Government Futures thought leadership research papers to facilitate debate around key areas of public policy.
We look forward to working closely with the Forum over the coming year to help shape the future of public services which will contribute to a vibrant local economy and sustainable communities emerging from recession.
