'Managing Procurement Risk'

September 25 2012

Organised in co-operation with Aon Risk Services, the Institute of Directors and the Northern Ireland Audit Office, 'Managing Procurement Risk' was the first in a new series of Risk Management workshops focusing on key aspects of risk and how it is managed. As in the previous series there was a heavy emphasis on discussion - on encouraging people from both the public and the private sectors to reflect on their experiences and the arrangements they have in place.

Workshop #1 addressed the management of procurement risk:

  • What the risks are
  • Knowing what you are buying
  • Knowing how much you need to buy
  • Knowing who you are buying from and where the supply comes from
  • Knowing what you are prepared to pay
    - Meeting common challenges:
    - Negotiating
    - Contract SLAs
    - The relationship you need to have with suppliers
    - Handling poor performance
    - Legacy
    - Fragmentation of procurement

  • The workshop was led by a Aon's Dr Grant Foster, head of Enterprise Risk Management Services.

Workshop Fee: The workshop delegate fee for seminars in this series is £100+VAT.
