NIAO Launch of Good Practice Guide on Effective Audit and Risk Assurance Committees - 6th June 09:15 - 11:00AM
The Chief Executives’ Forum is delighted to host the launch of the Northern Ireland Audit Office’s new Good Practice Guide on Effective Audit and Risk Assurance Committees.
The guide recognises the important governance function played by Audit & Risk Assurance Committees (ARACs) in helping to ensure that an organisation has good corporate governance and that it is effective and well managed. It is aimed at ARAC members, secretariats and executive officers in organisations across Northern Ireland’s public service, including in local government.
The guide brings together and supplements relevant guidance already available from the Department of Finance, HM Treasury and the National Audit Office. It includes examples of good practice identified through the NIAO’s work and is written to promote good practice at ARACs. Click here to download the guide.
At this event, we will hear from the Comptroller and Auditor General, Dorinnia Carville and from governance expert Brian Whalley who delivers CEF’s Public Accountability & Governance training provision. We will also hear from practitioners and there will be ample opportunity for engagement at the event.
