AND DETAILS ON HOW TO APPLY

Our Transformative Leader Programme delivered by Michael Dunlop and Lynn McKeown, Power of Choice is designed for motivated, inspiring and passionate leaders, who desire personal and professional growth and who want to effect real change and make a difference.

The programme provides a positive environment for a group of up to ten senior leaders from across Northern Ireland’s public sector to share experiences and learning; discuss challenges and build relationships and networks. Involving a total of 32 hours across six months, the programme is delivered in bite-sized chunks including a blend of live events, webinars and individual coaching sessions.

Participants strongly value the programme’s design which enables them to participate in short, frequent sessions, each one building on the learning from the previous. The programme provides access to a practical set of skills, techniques and principles for dealing with the challenges, opportunities and responsibilities of leadership.

Using approaches developed from neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and Systems Thinking, the programme guides participants on how to become more aware of their own habitual patterns and those of the people around them, and how small changes in your behaviour can improve outcomes by increasing their ability to understand, influence and engage more effectively with colleagues.

The current programme will complete in June 2025, bringing the TL Alumni to 100 members, working across all parts of NI’s public service.  The TL alumni maintain an active network enabling participants to maintain contact and widen their network with colleagues from all cohorts.

'Read what our participants have to say:

"I have been re-energised and reminded myself of my own value as a leader. The programme has made me realise I am proud of my resilience and tenacity.’"

" It’s been great… the biggest difference for me was the Well Formed Outcome. I use it for strategy and for conversations with stakeholders … I’ve got my team using it too! Even more than that, I’ve always been a very positive person and I recognised that since Covid my thinking patterns had become more negative and it has given me a way to get back to being me as a leader."

“ I found it to be an excellent programme. I really like the fact each session built on the learning from the previous session. This approach allowed us to consolidate the learning. I loved the humour!"

" I have got as much from the programme personally as I have professionally - acquired new skills which are as equally applicable in my day to day life and how I perceive and interact with those around me."

" Coaching has been extremely valuable, overall, it's re-energised me and reminded me of my own value as a leader".

" The 1-1 coaching sessions were excellent and in a different league from any I had experienced before".
